Come Wander With Us Through Your New Winterland of Music

Welcome to the world of “Winter Wander,” our holiday concept album. We aspire to take you on a listening journey, and though you can certainly skip around to different tracks, this collection is best embraced from beginning to end.

The album opens with “Prelude — Winter Walk” which sets the stage for our Winter Wander character who’s about to embark on her travels to redefine the meaning of the holidays. The song that was part of the inspiration for this album, “Winter Wonderland,” is transformed out of its usual upbeat form into a more pensive, pared down version. Each time you see “Winter” in the track’s title, the theme will return (symbolizing our character); however, as her travels continue, the theme will not only return but also transform as she takes something with her from each scene. You’ll hear highly recognizable tunes such as “White Christmas” and “The Christmas Song” but maybe not so familiar ones such as “Tu Scendi Dalle Stelle” (Italy), “Pat-a-Pan” (France), and “Betelehemu” (Nigeria). One holiday favorite that we knew for certain we had to include was “Silent Night” which was inspired both by a version Kathy grew up listening to and Genie’s memories of playing Catholic Christmas mass in Chicago.

As we worked through the development of this project, we arranged pieces that reflected our desire for connection and unity for not only us, but for everyone. It’s our wish that you love listening to “Winter Wander as much as we loved creating it.
